​​​​​U.S. house prices rose in April, up 0.7 percent from March, according to the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) seasonally adjusted monthly House Price Index (HPI®). House prices rose 3.1 percent from April 2022 to April 2023. The previously reported 0.6 percent increase in March was revised downward to 0.5 percent.

1​​​Q23 Highlights — Foreclosure Prevention

The Enterprises' Foreclosure Prevention Actions:

  • The Enterprises completed 58,268 foreclosure prevention actions in the first quarter of 2023, bringing the total to 6,771,101 since the start of conservatorships in September 2008. Of these actions, 6,066,666 have helped troubled homeowners stay in their homes, including 2,640,651 permanent loan modifications.

​U.S. house prices rose in October, up 0.3 percent from September, according to the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) seasonally adjusted monthly House Price Index (HPI®). House prices rose 6.3 percent from October 2022 to October 2023. The previously reported 0.6 percent price increase in September was revised to a 0.7 percent increase.​
