FHFA Expands Uniform Appraisal Dataset (UAD) Aggregate Statistics with New Measures and New Quarterly Data

for immediate release
09/26/2024

Washington, D.C. – The Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) today published its 2024 second quarter data for the Uniform Appraisal Dataset (UAD) Aggregate Statistics and introduced new condominium data as part of the UAD Aggregate Statistics. This is the first publicly available data drawn from condominium appraisal records and complements the existing data for single-family homes.

“Today's release features data drawn from condominium appraisal records submitted to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac — an important step in expanding public access to appraisal data,” said Dr. Anju Vajja, Deputy Director for FHFA’s Division of Research and Statistics. “This data will help researchers, industry stakeholders, and the public identify trends in condominium appraisals, including potentially discriminatory patterns.”

The current release includes data drawn from more than five million condominium appraisal records from 2013 through the second quarter of 2024. Condominium appraisal aggregate statistics may be grouped by property or neighborhood characteristics and geographic levels (national, state, and Metropolitan Statistical Area). FHFA plans to include condominium data in quarterly releases of the UAD Aggregate Statistics on an ongoing basis.

Users can also access the new condominium data through the UAD Aggregate Statistics Dashboards. Additionally, five dashboards (Advanced Analytics, State, County, Census Tract, and Fair Lending) have been integrated to provide a new single access point and support analysis of the data.

The UAD Aggregate Statistics Data File and Dashboards are the nation’s first publicly available datasets of aggregate statistics on appraisal records, giving the public new access to a broad set of data points and trends found in appraisal reports. The UAD Aggregate Statistics Dashboards are designed to provide user-friendly access through customized maps and charts. This release introduces new mobile versions of the dashboards to further promote data access.
