    Here is my advice:

    1.) Remember the lessons of history...particularly the 2008 housing crisis
    2.) Remember the four "C s" of lending. Lenders used to pay attention to this and guess what...it worked well for decades.
    3.) Do not politicize things. Yes, promoting homeownership is a noble cause. However, when you ignore the fundamentals of sound lending (see # 2 above), eventually things will go horribly wrong (see #1 above).
