    As someone who has worked in the real estate industry in multiple capacities, as a real estate salesperson, sales & marketing director and state regulator. I believe the current direction of both GSE's (FnF) are not what they were originally intended, HUD with FHA loans has filled the niche to service underserved and marginal borrowers in the past. The current thinking that every person deserves a home loan is what led to the financial crisis and subsequent housing meltdown. The only reason that housing has "recovered" is the intervention of FnF in backing loans for industrial investors in the SFR market, which has reduced inventory and will end badly for the individual investors in their REITs.
