Manhattan Bank has been a very satisfied user of the FHLB to help with funding and KEEPING in house 1-4 family loans in our community. The FHLB bank has been consistent in their help. We are a small $ 267 million independent bank located in Montana. The FHLB is vital in helping small banks. When I started in Banking in 1966 there were over 150 banks in Montana and the state is down to about 35 banks. Small banks deliver unparalled service to local communities and are important to serving our customers well and in a responsible way.
