The Federal Home Loan Bank system is an integral part of the financial system of the country. Specifically, FHLB-Des Moines is integral to the ability of our community-based financial institutions to serve our communities by providing an unwavering source of liquidity to provide our institution with the confidence that, should the need arise, we can count on FHLB-Des Moines to help provide assistance with liquidity needs. Additionally, FHLB-Des Moines provides access to products and services that positively impacts our members and supports home ownership in ways that other third parties do not. A significant void would be created if FHLB's mission were to change. That would have a disastrous consequence to our members and the communities we serve.
