Congress created the FHLBank System and its mission, and any changes to the System’s mission should be determined by Congress, not the FHFA. The Federal Home Loan Bank liquidity is to critical to our institution and we urge the FHFA to ensure that all current members continue to have the same access to it as they do today.
Given the Supreme Court ruling today on the Chevron Deference, it is hoped that the FHFA will leave interpretation of laws to Congress and the courts.
