On behalf of the community bank that I manage, I would like to stress upon the FHFA to reconsider any changes to the FHLB system. We have utilized FHLB for many years to support our liquidity needs during high seasonal lending periods. Their organization is very well ran, and has been a dream to work with. It appears to me that FHFA is trying to create a problem that in theory needs to be fixed. If the FHLB was not conducting their business above board, there would be many member banks that would be dropping their memberships. In fact, it's just the opposite. I ask that the FHFA and Congress back off and allow the FHLB to continue doing what they do best, help community banks. Sincerely, Robert J. Galt, President, First State Bank of Malta, MT.
