--- The Honorable Sandra Thompson Federal Housing Finance Agency Washington, D.C. Dear Director Thompson,
Thank you for the opportunity to provide feedback on the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) Request for Information.
Requirements to ensure housing is safe, decent, accessible, and healthy for renters and their families.
My two grandchildren and myself were on the lease. I was allowed to have guests over two nights a week. Every experience was awkward and inconvenient. The first odd interaction felt a bit racially charged. It was when I put a leash on my cat, then a grandson and I took kitty outside for fun and something to do. I went inside and it didn't take long before my little one came hurrying in carrying the cat and looked frightened. (He is mixed race) He said some big scary white lady yelled something at him and kept demanding his name. He told her he was hard of hearing. She said he could not have a cat outside on a leash and tried to keep him from going inside. He ran past her and came in the other door. Then I got a phone call and I said I had sent the child out with the cat to play. She told me cats could only be inside the apartment etc. My dog was ok to walk on a leash but not cats. She told me my grandchild was a very rude and disrespectful little boy. I told her she had frightened him. Every time kids tried to pay outside she made new rules. No play in the yard on the grass. No play or bikes on the sidewalk. No bikes or skateboards riding in or through parking lot. Basically no where to play outside. I had no recourse.
    Sincerely,
    Rene’
