    I am writing urging the FHFA (Federal Housing Finance Agency) to ensure tenants are protected by attaching rent control and tenant protections to landlords that get federal financing.

    Without tenant protections the homeless and unhoused crisis will continue to grow as the greed of landlords continue to raise rents worshiping profits over human dignity and life. One population that keeps being forgotten in this fight is our elders. Our country is going to have a large demographic of older adults living on fixed wages by 2030. Many, if not most, of them will be unable to afford the cost of rent and medical care. They would likely end up on the streets which is the worst place for them to be and it is immoral for our country to not act to protect our vulnerable elders. They paved the way for all of us and it's only right that we do all we can to make their lives one of quality, equity and dignity.

    Please do the right thing and hold landlords accountable!
