    I wanted to comment that if the government is subsidizing landlords, there need to be stronger protections in place to protect tenants. In many cases, we see corporations buy properties in cities they aren't based in, they raise rents and impact local property taxes, and tenants deserve better. They deserve fair rents, protections against evictions, clean and safe living conditions, and quick responses from landlords in the cases of repairs or issues with buildings. In any case where the government is helping landlords financially, there need to be protections in place for the people who these landlords are supposed to be serving.
