    I'm a fan of a hand up not a hand out, with attention to what's practical. More housing regulation deters landlords from turning over properties. In turn properties are not freed up for new entrants to the market (like young folks moving out for the very first time). Rent control artificially creates a sense of security instead of a sense of responsibility. Whereas responsibility is a step towards stability.
