    Federal Housing Finance Agency Washington, D.C. Director Thompson,

    I support tenant protections in properties with federally backed mortgages.

    (1) Prohibit source of income discrimination against renters with Section 8, Social Security or rental assistance.
    (2) Specify just cause eviction standards and give people enough notice to find another place to live.
    (3) Make it possible for people to move without having to pay double, overlapping rent.
    (4) Prohibit or make it difficult for a landlord to refuse to renew a tenant’s lease when the tenant is not at fault.
    (5) Limit rent increases and prevent price gouging.
    (6) Maintain properties in healthful condition and good repair.
    (7) Provide accessibility for the disabled.
    (8) Eliminate rules that block Section 8 tenants from going to school.
