"We here at Bridger Peaks Village in Bozeman Montana, live in a federally funded Senior apartment complex. This complex was originally built to provide care for the senior citizens in the community. The structure of the units, the structure of the outdoor, the security of the entryways was all built to help seniors live comfortably. I believe the Federal Government has paid taxpayer dollars to the property management companies, Tamarack, in the hopes that they would provide safe, Senior considerate, dignified, affordable housing for us. This HAS NOT BEEN THE CASE! The appliances and stuff that were installed are of lower quality than what was in place, and none of this remodel seems to have taken any consideration for the fact that there are 60 elderly people living in this community, some in walkers, some wheelchair’s, some scooters. There should have been specific consideration for the elderly. Instead, they have neglected the basic needs, and have treated us with contempt and displeasure.
They’ve have used federally funded money for cheap renovations, inconsiderate planning and have justified exorbitant rent hikes. My rent was $875, now, after very stressful traumatic move out and in procedures, (I was displaced for 33 days) my rent is $1298. The moving process on many of my elderly neighbors has been horrendous. Many many people had personal property placed in unsecured locations and have had valuable heirlooms turn up missing! Not to mention the hardships of requiring 70, 80, and 90 year olds to unpack their entire belongings, the stress has been hard to watch. The management company has been so aggressive and inconsiderate to the needs of the elderly citizens living in this community. They threw away DVDs and VHS tapes from our community room, they threw away our piano! These were used by the community! Then, after the remodel, they rearranged the furniture int the community room and screwed our tables together and then put locks on them so that we could not expand them for our Tuesday and Thursday coffee meetings! They threaten told us we could no longer store items in the community closet, where we stored our coffee, cups, paper plates and decorations! It’s horrific none of my neighbors have the wherewithal or courage to stand up against these bullies because they’re afraid they will be evicted. It feels as though they really don’t like the elderly. Please help.
Or at the least, maybe you know where we can go to get help.
    Thank you for your time,
