The rent is too damn high! Since we are not doing much if anything to protect people from eviction, we need to do something to help insure people can't be evicted so easily. Rent is 20% higher in just the last 2 years. Predatory lending practices advantage the landlord and disadvantage everyone else. There is not a single state in the country where a minimum wage worker can afford a modest apartment. We need protection and we need it now.
