My rent was hiked twice over the three years I was living at my last apartment, by about $100 the first time and $30 the second. It affected me in that once I switched careers I ould no longer afford the same level of groceries and I could no longer really afford transportation. My main challenge right now are that my credit is so low and my income small enough that I cannot afford housing. I cannot find an apartment. Apartments in my area average $1800 to $2000. I could barely afford $635 with two roommates. I'm a cashier. I work full time. I should be able to afford housing.
