Dear FHFA,

I am writing to express my deep concern and frustration regarding the consistent and significant rent hikes I have experienced over the past three years. My name is Joshua Stinson, and I reside in Charleston, SC, along with my wife, Lexus, and our young child. The consistent 20 percent increase in rent each year has had a detrimental impact on our household budget, making it increasingly difficult to meet our financial obligations and provide for our family's needs.

I understand that housing costs may naturally rise over time, but such steep and frequent increases make it challenging for hardworking families like mine to maintain stability and plan for the future. As a result, we are forced to make sacrifices in other areas, which has put a strain on our overall well-being.

I kindly request that the FHFA thoroughly investigates the reasons behind these rent hikes and implement things such as rent regulation, good cause eviction, banning income discrimination and safe, quality and accessible housing to ensure more reasonable and fair adjustments in the future. Affordable housing is essential for families like ours to thrive and contribute positively to our community.
