My rent has gone up every year in the place where I live, despite the fact that my landlord has had their mortgage paid off for years. Additionally, my landlord refuses to allow me and my roommates to fill and empty room in our house, preventing us from lowering our rent. Landlords of all housing types have too much power, and this power must be curtailed if we ever hope to live in a fair and equitable society. Rent control now!
