Hi my name is Sian Pinet. My rent tripled in January of 2023. I live in the Castlebar Apartments. My rent jumped from $650 per month to $1225 per month for my 2 bedroom apartment. I am disabled and on a fixed income. What used to be 30% of my income for my rent in now costing me half of my disability check. I am unable to work because of a car accident I was in and back injuries that I sustained. The out of state coop bought five low income properties in Bozeman, remodeled, and then tripled the rent on disabled people on fixed incomes. How do we afford to live?
