Tenants should be entitled to protections from landlords, including caps on rental rates and how large an increase can be made each year. If I wasn’t able to live with family right now, I would be unable to afford rent in all but the worst conditions and multiple roommates even though my partner works full time. Ive had a landlord still charge full rent while refusing to address a sinkhole on the property.
