We need a handle on rent somehow. My rent has only gone up $25, but if my rent went up anymore than that I'd have to move and start looking for another place to live. It took me 4 months to find this place that I have. It wouldn't be easy at all. I'm fortunate that I have a good landlord, but that's not always been the case. It took me a long time to find the landlord I have now. That's why I think we need some sort of tenant protections.
