If they get a FannieMae loan like my complex Bedford Manor did, they shouldn't be able to just raise rents on people. I'm a single mother raising children, and I can't afford a surprise rent increase every year. There should be a set rent.

The big companies that get FannieMae loans should have to do repairs, for health reasons. Since the so-called "remodel" at Bedford Manor last year, there's still mold in my pantry where they never gutted it our replaced the shelving, and there are still active water leaks from my window that I've reported. The WinnCompanies maintenance people took our fire extinguishers last month and said that "due to new HUD regulations" we didn't have a right to fire extinguishers anymore. There needs to be some basic standards for how they treat us and make sure repairs and safety are handled.

And they shouldn't be able to retaliate if we speak up for ourselves! By law it's our freedom of speech and we shouldn't be worried about getting evicted or kicked out for speaking the truth because we don't have anywhere else to go.
