    There should limits on rent hikes, they shouldn't be able to raise the rent over a particular percentage each year.

    Landlords should be required to have regular on-staff maintenance and they need to make updates to apartments.

    Additionally, retaliation is wrong. I should be free to say what I like to who I like. There needs to be policies in place to protect renters from retaliation.
