"Decent, livable housing that is actually affordable in Gainesville is becoming a crisis, wages aren't going up and rental prices keep skyrocketing despite old rentals falling deeper into decline. There are no meaningful standards or protections for renters, and they have little to no power over landlords who raise the rent every time they lookup the zestimate on Zillow, because they *can*.
PLEASE someone do something to help the average family and single workers just trying to survive while food and energy prices skyrocket and rent goes up every year by 30% minimum for crappier and crappier housing. "
