Tenant protections are crucially important to ensuring that the relationship between tenants and landlord is not skewed in favor of the landlord, as market conditions would result in without adequate protections. Federal statute should prevent states like Florida from being able to preempt all tenant rights laws on the books at the statewide level, completely thwarting the actions of elected local officials enacting laws to protect their localities renters. Please consider such a provision in any new recommendations or legislation so that renters across the country, not just those in certain pro-tenant states, can be properly protected. Thank you.
