The way tenants are treated in the states is completely unacceptable. When I left my apartment in Jackson Heights, they raised the rent by $600. I’ve lived there for 8 years. My cousins still struggle to find permanent affordable housing. They have been on the section 8 waiting list for decades. We need affordability and stability, not these landlords.
