Rent has gotten too expensive to afford. It sometimes rises $250 per year. I had to leave when it grew to over $1700/month. The apartment complexes are also charging for new things, like using their website portal and for having a place to accept packages. They used to lump water/sewer/trash into one payment, now they've separated out water from that as a separate payment and the sewer/trash payment stays the same. They also charge administration and other unexplained fees that should just be part of the base rent. So there is rent, and then there are all the extra charges that add up to another $75/month or so.
