I am 28 years old and it is not inflammatory for me to say that the lack of tenant protections and affordable housing is ruining the lives of almost every young person I know. There is no future, no families, no dreams, without a place to live. We cannot build our lives when there is nowhere to go, and we never know when we’ll have to keep moving. Every year we pay more and more to live in the same crappy apartments, each increase outpacing any raises or salary adjustments we might work so hard to earn. Rent control NOW. Affordable housing NOW. Do not sit back and allow the interests of wealthy landlords to steal the dreams, the lives, the families, and the spirit of 2 entire generations.
