    Our group has been collecting tenant stories since February of 2021. We have found over the past 2 years that there are numerous people in Arizona living in corporate apartment complexes that are severely rent burdened, are waiting for repairs to fundamental things like toilets, showers, kitchens, and air conditioning units through 100+ weather, and are being displaced every year due to runaway and abusive rent hikes. These corporate owned and operated and federally financed units are creating living situations that harm working families health and wellbeing, creating negative outcomes to the vast majority of working class Arizonans who do not own property. Everyone deserves a safe, healthy place to live and investor owned apartments that fail to provide this should not be subsedized by these federal programs.
