I am a research associate for UC Merced. The research backs that tenants need more protections. Rents are too high for incomes that are too low. We want to address the homeless issues therefore we must address prevention- right to counsel keeps us housed… rent control keeps us housed… Tenant protections and rights are crucial policy measures in addressing the US’s housing crisis and preventing homelessness. These policies aim to provide stability, security, and fairness to tenants, thereby ensuring a sustainable housing market.
