In Arkansas, we have fought for over a decade to get an Implied Warranty of Habitability for tenants. We were trying to get public policy passed that offered the minimum standards such as a roof that doesn't leak, floors that don't cave in, running water, heating and cooling mechanisms, ect.... In addition, Arkansas is the only state that criminalizes evictions which means poor people can be legally harassed by landlords and law enforcement. We must do better!
