There is a move to develop investor consortiums to acquire mobile and manufactured home parks throughout the nation. These organizations then accelerate rents that go up incrementally greater than inflation. In our park, Lakeway Estates, Bellingham, WA, rents have gone up every year by 6.25% annually for the last three years straight. This park houses the elderly who mostly rely on Social Security only. Compare that to recent increases in SS premiums and you see the problem.
