    Many apartment and homes are not being kept up to code. The owners or landlords keep raising the rent yearly and adding petty fees but we receive nothing new. It is hard to find affordable housing when these companies are charging for move in fees, HOA, Condolences fees, repair deductible, other non refundable fees and some we have to make an appointment to move in and not be able to move in at our convenience so we won't have to take off work. Don't forget the security deposits, First and last month rent and many places are rat and mouse infested. These rodents are eating through the walls. But many maintenance requests don't get honored for months. I haven't mentioned the water leaks, trash dumpster, building fires, smells of cannabis or pot thru the air vents and the car , package other thief's, no parking spaces and fighting. Other police activity that the owners and landlords ignore and don't continue to improve their property. I thought their was costs involved in doing business but the owners and landlords want everyone else to pay for everything and they only do the minimum for the tenants. We don't own the place. They do and we pay for a service and they should give tenants the service we are paying for. We should not be paying for everything as though we own it. We are only renting it. I beg of you to please stop this madness and control the rental prices. It has been out of hand for so many years now. I feel that rent prices should not equal or be more than mortgages. They own the place, we only rent the places temporarily in many cases. Thank-you for your time and attention to my explanation and rent control request. Hope you are having a great day.
