Corporate landlords receiving federally backed loans with no strings attached is not right. There is plenty of housing on the market it is just all unaffordable so forcing these landlords to keep rent affordable would be the right thing to do if you truly want to help solve this crisis. The second thing would be to develop a way for conditions of these properties to be managed and support tenants when their landlords inevitably don’t improve inhumane conditions. Landlords never respond to maintenance requests much less improve the property on their own.
