I’m a life long renter, a millennial whose family bought a $300k home with five bedrooms on two acres when I was 10. I’ve always dreamed of owning my own home someday- I’m 38 and work in the videogames industry and I’m no closer to home ownership than I was when I started. Why? The rent is too damn high. Every year these landlords try to take 1/3+ of whatever income I earn, no matter how my pay rises. We need tenant protections now! Please take action to stop these predatory landlords from bleeding Americans dry; restore the American dream to America.
