    The federal government needs to protect renters, who are a third of the nation's citizens, and some of the more vulnerable, most often ignored people. My rent increased by 27% year over year. My landlord (Greystar) is a large firm that benefits from favorable federal financing, and yet they extort their tenants. We need federal rent control, and tenant protections.
