I strongly oppose federal funds being used to subsidize wealthy individuals, corporations, or worst of all hedge funds, so that they can purchase rental housing. If any federal funds are used, strong, legally binding tenant protections must be a condition of such loans. Small landlords provide much better service and repair to properties than corporations. It is a fact, that as the distance between landlord and tenant grows, in both proximity and status, the landlord response worsens. Many rental housing companies make it extremely difficult to reach them and even more difficult to communicate with someone who has the power to make a decision and fix the problem.
