The incredible jumps in rents need to be curtailed. Landlords should not exploit a community disaster. Raising rents to levels that force stable tenants into homelessness should be prevented by our elected officials and tax-supported organizations. Raising rents by 20+% just because it’s possible is treating housing exclusively like an investment not like the basic need it is.
Please put rent controls at least on federally funded residential stock.
