It's insulting how those who are born and bred here when you cannot afford anything but NYCHA and they are horrible with urine in the elevators, hallways and roaches, etc. but the city has money to allow developers to build luxury rentals and condos where you cannot even fit furniture into the rooms built and then allow gentrification in Bed- Stuy at astronomical numbers pricing everyone out and so many bars on Broadway but your car is torn up since the street cannot be repaired since the 1970s blackout so many rats you cannot even sit outside or get out of your car after dark. Who is the idiot that got rid of metal cans that rats cannot chew?. By the way, why is property so expensive here? Why does space here to live in cost so much? Go to another state and the money they are charging here for rent or purchase can allow you to live elsewhere in real luxury; NYC is not luxurious, it's too populated. NYC under this administration is pricing everyone out to where they are leaving. It is utter discrimination, then to cancel the leases of those who have been ill and have had issue with their employer leaving them out of first time home buyer programs, such as NACA, then charging those in NYCHA market rate rent for bad walls, bad appliances, out- dated electricity, etc. BUT refugees whom you don't know if they are/ were gang members in their own country can come here and live free, get social security and public assistance when we've been paying taxes all of our working lives and have astronomical student debt. It is horrible here. Where is our financing, where is our first priority? I am looking to relocate but since COVID, with two degrees, it's hard to leave since those who have already left have snatched up the jobs. You can have it all and enjoy the traffic changes that created more traffic.
