I live in Cleveland, OH where the rents are crazy high, considering the fact that the city is historically low-income. I know this because I worked for 15 years in a food pantry here and I dealt with many people who were struggling to pay their rent. On top of that, what people get for their out-of-control payments is no great shakes: often the rental units are small, dirty and in some cases, contain lead, which is a hazard to everyone but especially small children, who make up a large number of Cleveland residents. I urge you to do everything you can to bring these unmanageable rents -- in Cleveland and throughout the country -- under control.
