Rent prices need to come down in order for the poor and working class to find housing within their budget. Also, landlords and corporate landlords should meet certain requirements for keeping their rental units safe, affordable, and maintained to receive any type of federal or loan compensation. I believe there should be check-ups included with what I previously mentioned—this is coming from a working class individual who has encountered more than one slumlord in my renting history and those landlords fought me tooth and nail just to save a buck. I’ve experienced improper wiring, flood damage from improper maintenance, mold, incorrect billing, and more. Please keep these landlords from becoming any more greedy and inconsiderate about the folks who live in their units.
