My rent increases even though the quality of the property stays the same. I have been in Waldo Heights for two years. The rent went up by $40 and that’s grocery money for my three kids. I would like to see rent control for my apartment to protect my family. And the maintenance is slow when I need something fixed. The carpets in the hallways are not clean. The elevator has been down for a while. And the landlord gets an attitude with me when I ask for help. I think that the landlord should take greater responsibility for protecting tenants because they get all that tax money from the government and my rent on top of that.
