The rent is not affordable anywhere right now. I live in a historically affordable neighborhood and there should be rent control for people that are low income, on social security or disability. We should have protections in writing, we shouldn’t be treated as collateral for progress. Corporations have bought out our neighborhood made false promises and have been pricing us out. They shouldn’t be able to get loans and jack up the rent. If they get loans then they should have to build truly affordable units as well.
