I am writing that you include conditions to loans to landlords that will ensure strong protections to tenants. Too many tenants have been victims of predatory landlords who arbitrarily raise rents, pursue unfair evictions, and refuse to make repairs on rental properties. Tenants living in barely habitable properties are often afraid to request repairs or pursue any kind of legal recourse against landlords because of the fear of homelessness or loss of subsidies, and landlords are smug in their assumption that they can continue these kinds of tactics with impunity. Any steps that can be taken toward protecting tenants are necessary and should be made forthwith!
