I am an older single disabled woman and it’s terrible for older people, and especially if you have a disability. In the public housing they know when you get an increase and the landlords double that on your rent increase. I can’t have my grand kids over because I live on the second floor and my neighbors tell on me every-time. I get $25 dollars in food stamps so I eat crackers and drink lots of water unless I can beg someone for food. I often have to really on a man for food or if I need something. I can’t afford a car. I had to move from Eastern KY because the apts were awful. I’m I wish there were some tenant protections! I hope you stop them from taking electric check money, allow us to have community time with our friends and neighbors, stop them from creating higher rents everytime social security or stamps increases, provide an attorney for people getting evicted we are humans that have done nothing wrong we just get behind, we are not criminals, don’t let discrimination on race and others sources of income. Make each city and county create a landlord registry and landlords should have to get a permit to rent so building has to pass a good inspection, so we don’t get screwed. I have been showed one apt the made to go to another to rent. Landlords are greedy and destroying us. Please help, you have the power.
