Please note that efforts to impose rent control or eviction control at the federal level will result in less available rental housing, drive more rental housing providers out of business, and as a result cause market rents to go higher. As California has expanded rent controls and related regulations, it is causing as massive divestment from rental housing in the state. These policies are pure folly and have a long history of failing.
