    I am writing to urge you, in the strongest possible terms, to require tenant protections in federally-backed loans.

    I work as a community organizer. As part of my job, I knock on the doors of hundreds of people in my community and talk with them about the issues affecting their lives. I can say that living conditions are the #1 problem for most people where I live. In my county people are forced to live with black mold that makes them sick, literal holes in the walls and floors of their apartments, appliances that do not work, leaks, etc, and landlords do nothing to fix these issues while still charging rent. We need tenant protections at every level, and starting with tenant protections from the federal government would be a major step towards making working people's lives better.

    I urge you in the strongest possible terms to require tenant protections in federally-backed loans.
