What is often lost in the debate is the fact that landlords try to create an environment that is peaceful and sustainable and that prohibitions on evictions mean that the community is often forced to retain tenants who do not pay their rent, aggravate other tenants, invite guests who break property rules and law, and make the property less attractive for all the other tenants. Throughout Covid we were forced to retain tenants who broke all kinds of rules and refused to pay any rent at all.
