As a result of tenant organizing, the federal government is deciding whether to require landlords who get federal money to agree to tenant protections like limiting rent hikes, banning evictions without good cause, and standardizing leases in over 12 million apartment units nationwide.
The government is accepting comments from the public, including renters. In a callous and greedy move, corporate landlords are flooding the comment portal, opposing tenant protections and trying to drown out the voices of tenants
