    As a retired public school educator, I have witnessed the harm done by housing insecurity. Students have trouble concentrating on their studies. The stress takes a toll on their mental health. Wages have not kept up with housing expenses. Protections must be put in place to protect families from exploitation by landlords. Our youth need our protection. Housing should not be a source of unreasonable profits at the expense of the lives of the most vulnerable.
